Rally Liepaja :: FIA European Rally Championship fans to gather in Kuldīga

Kuldīga region council invites its inhabitants and guests to visit the FIA European Rally Championship round Rally Liepāja.

The event will take place on Kuldīga and Liepāja region roads, with this year’s rally scheduled from February 5 to 7. This year’s route will again contain the Kuldīga special stage, which will be 9,78 kilometres long. It will begin by the Mednieki house in Padure parish and move through the twisty roads by Keramika, Krācinieki and towards Old Kuldīga by the picturesque Venta river, called the Black Kolka by the locals, and finish in Kuldīga, next to Virka.

For the convenience of fans, a spectator viewpoint Kuldīga will be set up near the centre of Padure, where everyone will be able to warm up next to campfires, get some hot drinks and watch the best European drivers in action. Kuldīga will let the fans warm up in the fan tent, take pictures next to a huge snowman and get in a great mood with the Nebēdnīgo klaunu orķestris (Orchestra of the mischievous clowns). Other surprises are also in store for the event. Come to watch and have a great time! Best access to the Kuldīga spectator viewpoint is from the center of Padure parish.

Rally organizers would like to remind you that the spectator viewpoint will have campfires, availability hot drinks and snacks, rally radio for following the latest news, as well as lavatories.

Kuldīga special stage will take place on Saturday, February 6, with the crews tackling it twice. First run through the stage (SS1) will begin at 9:30, while the second time will take place in the dusk (SS6), starting from 16:15.

New for this year is the pre-start zone in Pilsēta square, where all fans and families with kids are welcome. Rally cars will leave the City square for the first stage starting from 9:15, while the first car will be back in Kuldīga at 16:30. Entrance to the City square is free of charge.

In addition to special stage Kuldīga, there will be four more special stages taking place in the region on Saturday – SS2/5 CASTROL EDGE and SS3/4 NESTE OIL.
