The rapid Hungarian driver won three out of the last four rounds to clinch the ERC2 title in a dramatic final round showdown. After a highly successful season behind the wheel of his Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX, Botka will return to the ERC next year with his sights on overall success.
Botka’s first ERC appearance with the Citroën and co-driver Péter Szeles is scheduled for Rally Liepāja in Latvia, taking place on February 5-7, 2016.
“Botka Rally Team has bought Citroën DS3 R5 car, and now the team is working on getting new sponsors to be able to do again a complete season in the 2016 ERC. In December we will have the first small gravel test rally with the new car in Hungary, and we hope we can be there in the next ERC season with this car!” confirmed team manager Csaba Földesi.
Dávid Botka has visited Rally Liepāja once, when in 2015 he finished 5th in ERC2 classification driving his championship Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX.
